Most of you have probably read or heard about the different theories of Dec. 12, 2012. It is considered by some to be a dooms day date. There are several ancient calendars that end on or around this date. Some also claim that Nostradamus predicted this time as the return of the anti-Christ. The 3rd thing is more scientific, but is also tied into some ancient writings. The 3rd thing tied to 2012 is the appearance of Nibiru or Planet X. This is suppose to be some planet that has never been official recognize by NASA or the general scientific community that has an orbit that will come close to Earth and cause the earth’s magnetic poles to shift and throw the earth off balance from a weather and climate standpoint.
Below is a list of some of the ancient cultures that mentioned 2012. I must say, for there to be multiple cultures to mention this that it does make you think.
* Hopi Predict a 25yr period of purification followed by End of Fourth World and beginning of the Fifth.
* Mayans Call it the ‘end days’ or the end of time as we know it.
* Maoris Say that as the veils dissolve there will be a merging of the physical & spiritual worlds.
* Zulu Believe that the whole world will be turned upside down.
* Hindus Kali Yuga (end time of man). The Coming of Kalki & critical mass of Enlightened Ones.
* Incas Call it the ‘Age of Meeting Ourselves Again’.
* Aztec Call this the Time of the Sixth Sun. A time of transformation. Creation of new race.
* Dogon Say that the spaceship of the visitors, the Nommo, will return in the form of a blue star
* Pueblo Acknowledge it’ll be the emergence into the Fifth World
* Cherokee Their ancient calendar ends exactly at 2012 as does the Mayan calendar.
* Tibetan Kalachakra teachings are prophesies left by Buddha predicting Coming of the Golden Age.
* Egypt According to the Great Pyramid (stone calendar), present time cycle ends in year 2012 AD
My personal view is that I think it is a bit arrogant when we assume that we are living in the end of times. That includes when it is preached in the traditional Christian church. This earth has been here for millions of years. The human race has been here for thousands of years. If you were to look at a time line and pinpoint a 100 year period to where we are now. We would be a small spec on the time line of the earth or even mankind.
People point to things that are happening in the weather to say it’s the end of times. There have been times where weather has been more severe than now. Hell the earth had an entire ice age. In the United States there was the great dust bowl.
People also point to diseases. If we were living during the time of the black plague, I could see us saying we were in the end of times. It had a mortality rate higher than anything ever seen and the population of the world was much smaller. More than 50% of the people infected died and they died in a few days of being infected. There are always new diseases or diseases mutating. That doesn’t mean the world is ending.
People also point to global warming as a sign of the end of days. I think that our earth may be having some sort of shift in climate, but that in itself does not mean the world is ending. Does it mean some places that are very populated now could become uninhabitable in the future? I think that is in the realm of possibility. Some places that were normally hot could end up being cold and vice versa.
I believe that the earth could be having some climate and weather changes were some traditional patters are shifting. That is normal if you live long enough or history is studied long enough. Change is inevitable and it may not be easy, but its not the end.
What do you thing about Dec. 21, 2012?
