Freaky Good Man

This is one of the new additions to the blog. Back in 2002 I had the idea of writing a book about black sex in America. The book was going to discuss the trends of sex in African Americans. Now this wasn’t going to be based on any serious scientific data. But, what I did do was create a website that had a survey on it. I asked about 45 questions. What I am going to do is repost those questions. The questions were initially asked to all women. I ended up getting over 1,200 responses to the survey.

I am going to post the survey questions individually. Feel free to respond to the question in the comment section of the blog. Also feel free to share any thoughts you have on the results from the survey. Whether you thought you were doing things differently or more in line with everybody else as far as your sex life is concern.

If you had your choice how often would you have sex?
*Note: If you are not sexually active or not in a relation or whatever, just answer if you could have as much sex as you wanted to. No matter the scenario.

When this question was asked I really thought most people would answer in the 3 to 5 times a week range.

a. Once every 2 months - 1%
b. Once a month - 1.8%
c. Once every 2 weeks - 2.2%
d. Once a week - 3.8%
e. Twice a week - 8%
f. Three times a week - 18.5%
g. Four times a week - 12.2%
h. Five times a week - 9.5%
i. Once a day - 16%
j. Two or more times a day - 27%

I was somewhat accurate about the 3 to 5 times a week I thought people wanted to have sex. I guess I was thinking about people’s schedules and just being able to make it happen. But, the thing that stood out to me was that the numbers people were actually having sex a week were much lower than the number of times people would like to have sex per week. 83% of people wish they could have sex at least 3 times a week or more. Yet, only 25.9% of people were actually having sex 3 or more times a week.

The biggest difference was in the once a day and two or more times a day responses. Only 2.7% of the respondents are having sex once a day, compared to 16% that would like to have sex once a day. And then all you freaky people that want to have sex two or more times a day was at 27%, but only 3.7% are actually having it that much.

Looks to me like a lot of people need to step up their game. People are not having nearly as much sex as they would like.

For me, I would be cool with 3 to 5 times a week. But, I do have spurts where everyday is cool. I usually put a lot of energy into pleasing, so everyday all the time may be a bit much for me.
