What’s up for 06′

It’s the end of the year and I am not one that’s big on New Year’s resolutions per say, but I have always believed in setting goals. I will turn 35 in 06′ so it’s time to step the game up to another level. I am going to set my goals pretty aggressively this year. As one of the most illustrious presidents of my Alma mater Benjamin E. Mays once said: “The tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not disgrace to not reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for.”

With that said, here are my goals for the upcoming year.

Income
1.Time to crack that $100,000 mark.
2. Save minimum of $10,000 put in Roth IRA, SEP and stock market.

Business
1. Want to have representatives of our business in 30 states by the end of the year.
2. Want to roll out our next product by April.
3. Want to be a bigger player than our biggest competitor by the end of the year. We already have his ass on the ropes in the West and Midwest.
4. I want to launch another small business by mid March. Already have done the business plan. Just have to make it reality.

Travel
1. Want to do 3 non-business trips this year. Which may be hard since I travel at least 7 times a year on business. But, plan on going to Brazil in April or May. Then want to squeeze in Miami and some other US city I have never been to.

Concerts
I love live music, but I only went to one concert this year. I want to do at least 3 concerts this year, one in another city.

Health
I need to drop about 10 pounds and just keep a regular work out schedule. I was horrible working out this year. I also want to start eating a little better.

Spirituality
I want to increase my relationship with God.

I believe you have to put positive vibes out in the universe and this is why I am sharing my goals in this forum. Who knows, maybe I can encourage some of you to do something you keep putting off. Don’t be afraid to push yourself and test your limits. God bless.

  1. You’re my role model! These are amazing, yet (I’m sure) attainable goals. Good luck reaching them. I’m sure you’ll keep us posted.

  2. Happy New Year,FGM! I am praying that you reach your goals for this new year. I was at church New Year’s Eve and one of the guest ministers said that this is a special year, 2006 because if you look at the number “6″ you can remember that on the 6th day, God created man. So, with that being said, he wanted us to know that this is that year for man. God Bless you and have a very prosperous, joy-filled and happy new year.
