Was watching CNN this morning as I am getting ready to head out for the day. Can you believe the bullshit that is going on now with the Katrina aftermath? Maybe you didn’t hear it yet, so let me tell you. The government has started issuing contracts to companies to do the clean up of the different areas hit by Katrina. Now for the sake of having the contracts issued quickly and getting the clean up started as fast as possible. They did not have any bidding for the contracts. So what does that mean? Who ever submits a bid, can ask whatever they want for the contract without any competition coming in to make sure that the price is fair. Which means there will be a great deal of profit made on the clean up. So now the taxpayers of America will have an additional burden of paying extra for this clean up.
Now to make matters worse. Who are two companies that have already gotten bids? Kellogg & Brown is one and another company that is headed by Joseph Allbaugh. Now, Kellogg & Brown is a subsidiary of good ole Haliburton. Who are they? They are the company that Vice President Dick Cheney was CEO of before he became Vice President and is a company that he still receives compensation from. They paid him $194,000 in 2004. They are also one of the main companies that has received huge bids for the rebuilding of Iraq. Now the other company that is headed by Joseph Allbaugh is as interesting. Who is Allbaugh? He is the former FEMA director and is the person that hand picked current FEMA director Mike Brown. Mike Brown is the idiot who screwed up quite a bit recently and was told to go back to Washington. So, the guy that put the idiot in place that was not qualified to be FEMA director will now benefit from this guy’s mistakes.
This is just a slap in the face. Not only is the current administration not being held accountable for what is going on. They are profiting from it. And profiting from it, in a very big way. The contracts to just these two companies are in the Billions of dollars.

This is what you get when those in power have the money they take care of their own

watch this. bush and his administration will make sure that these companies hire locals as laborers and maybe in a couple of lower and middle management positions to help re-build the area. for many people they will come out smelling like roses. its just like the tax cuts many people appreciated getting a tax break especially when it resulted in getting an extra check after returns had already been issued. it didn’t matter (or people didn’t notice) that the rich benifited more. with his administration behind him the man is not that dumb.
