Business Update 6/5/05
Well, we signed the contract and got our first check for selling part of the business. We were able to keep the amount where we wanted, but the payments are spread a little more than we wanted, but it’s a done deal now.
It’s a relief to have it done as well as exciting to be moving on to some bigger better things. America is a great country. lol We are selling this piece of the business and the new business owner is coming under our newly created National organization. So guess what! We will still be getting paid from the Atlanta market directly. Business can be so beautiful sometimes.
Our California guy is rocking and rolling. He has hosted two events under our new umbrella that went off well. Check this out. We are in Oregon and freaking Utah! Can you believe that, UTAH! Going to go hang out with the Mormons. lol
We were suppose to be rolling out one of our new products next week, but we have had to push it back a month. I think it will ultimately be the right choice, but I was getting excited about bringing something new to the market.
We took a trip to DC to actually participate in an event hosted by one of our national competitors. I wrote about him in a previous blog. He is basically a dick head that we are going after directly with our new organization. Only reason we went to participate in his event in DC was because of the relationships we have developed and are trying to cultivate there. Mr. Dick Head is in Ohio and just has these guys in DC running it and sending him money without doing a damn thing.
He damn lost his venue the damn day before and the guys in DC worked it out he could have venues within 12 hours. Not only that, he ended up not having the same cost as he would have if he hadn’t gotten shafted. So as they say, the sun shines on a dog’s ass sometimes. These guys pulled off this event for him and won’t get paid more than $300. We calculated the revenue he made and he should be sitting on $15,000 minimum and he didn’t even come to DC to make sure it went well. One of his biggest events of the year.
Anyway, we went to the event, and registered under the name FMC. He had banned me and my guys from coming to any of his events. The Dick Head’s initials are MC. So our registered name was Fuck M. C. lol It was too damn funny. We had one of our contacts in DC to register for us and be our contact. Some how the word got out what we were doing and got back to MC. So he called our contact and told him that if me and my business partner had anything to do with the group, that he couldn’t participate. Of course our guy was like what are you talking about. Then MC told him, “and I know what FMC stands for”! and hung up the phone. LMAO
Classic! Grown ass men pulling off high schoolish pranks on their competitors. It was too damn funny. When we got to the event, the word had really gotten out and people were dapping us up, saying beat the system and just laughing. My business partner was walking by this white guy and as he passed him, he said “GO FMC”! and my business partner smiled and kept walking. He then stopped and said, you know what FMC stands for. lol The guy was like hell yea, I love that shit, way to buck the system.
So we have created some buzz on the national level. It will be real interesting to see how this thing pans out. We have gotten some great support so far and looks like we are making a big splash on the West coast and the Midwest. Mr. Dick Head is pretty entrenched in the Northeast, so we will be battling with him pretty strong the next few months or maybe years.
