Today was a good day business wise, as we have seen two good business alliances blossom and begin to put pressure on one of our competitors. Business can be real funny especially when you have competitors in your market that can be cut throat.
My business promotes amateur athletics, both youth and adult regardless of the sports. We also throw about 3 large tournaments a year that attract quite a few teams from around the country. The tournaments we throw are adult flag football tournaments. One of our competitors here locally, has several tournaments a year but is never able to attract the same teams that we do. We are able to attract the top competition in the country and he is only able to get teams from the Atlanta area. In addition to him, there is a guy out of Ohio that feels he has a monopoly on the sport because he runs a huge national tournament in Orlando every year. He has attempted to branch out and make his organization a true player Nationally. But, he always screws the people he works with. He had our competitor in Atlanta host an event that lasted two days, plus all the work leading up to it, and paid the guy $100. You talking about a slap in the face.
Both of these two guys are just down right back stabbers. They call teams and tell them not to play at our events and create fictitious reason why they shouldn’t make the trip. They formed an alliance to work together, but the main guy in Ohio hasn’t been happy with what the local Atlanta guy is doing. We are kicking his ass here in the southeast. Mr. Ohio wants to have a large presence down here in Atlanta so bad its funny. He has even contacted us to work with him, behind our competitors back. That won’t happen, he is a dick head if ever I met one.
Part of our long-term goals is to expand into other cities; from our events as well as some of our other business aspects. Low and be hold, about 2 weeks ago we start getting calls from a guy in Charlotte, NC and a guy from Bakersville, CA. Both of them are wanting to do business with us because they heard of the good things we were doing.
Within the last two weeks we worked on putting on events in both places at strategic times of the year that would be more beneficial for us, but also put a little pressure on our competition. We decided to have an event in Kansas City this summer with the guy from Bakersville. We put the information out just as a feeler last night before we start our big marketing push. Well, word travels fast as the main guy out of Ohio has called us and our new business associate in Bakersville telling us that its a bad idea to have our event at that time, which is about a week from his big tournament in Cleveland.
The great thing about that is he hasn’t even heard about our event in Charlotte that will be another big blow to him. We plan on putting that out there by the end of the week. Business can quick your ass some days, but when you make moves that turn out right, it’s no better feeling. Well maybe one or two.

i know its a little late for a note but i hope all went well with you endeavor. congrats on you alls sucess..
